Spirometry test before taking ventolin and after resulted in no difference. then told to not take symbicort for 6 weeks and come back for another test. test showed breathing fine. was told to discontinue puffer as i dont have asthma. do you agree?

Maybe: Asthma is a genetically influenced condition with a wide range in form. It can be so mild you are never labeled, but have a cough asthma meds help. It can be so intense you need 3 meds daily to get by. Milder forms may emerge & disappear while intense forms also very in meds needed over time. Testing says you are fine for now. But the tendency for a mild form may be present.

PFT test: The pulmonary function test that you described indicated that there was no change with Albuterol. The test may be uploaded for a Healthtap consult. The symptoms may return and if your physician does not diagnose asthma, another condition may be considered. A chest image may be obtained, TB test to screen for TB, and if changes occur, please see your physician.
