It depends on:: This depends on how active your HIV infection is. If the HIV RNA level is more than 1,000 copies/ml a scheduled C-section is advised to reduce risk of transmission to your baby. If the HIV RNA level is below 1,000 copies/ml then there is no reason to not have a normal delivery. I recommend reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, a great book.
