A member asked:

Im 54 year old female & blood results show above normal levels for uric acid, chloride, alkaline phosphatase & sodium. i dont have a pcp and want to see a physician about these results, should i first see an endocrinologist or internist?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Internist: Do you have any symptoms? All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, it would have helped had you provided the values.
