Varies: Multiple potential causes and it may be more than one thing. Leukocytes in the urine can be one of the findings if a urinary tract infection. A full urinanalysis and culture can give more detail. If a urinary infection gets up in the kidney it can cause more systemic symptoms, such as an elevated white count. A detailed exam and further studies will likely determine the cause.
