Small percentage: Retinal detachment is increased in higher degrees of myopia but still less than 3-4 % . There is no relationship between myopia and macular degeneration. Be aware of the symptoms of detachment: light flashes, many floaters at once, visual blurring. At your age the chance of this happening is very tiny.
