Any age: All 3 may occur at any age from various causes, but macula degeneration and cataracts increase in frequency with advancing age.

Not always: Macular degeneration predominantly affects older people, but other retinal disorders can affect those who are younger. Retinal detachment is more common among older, but definitely occurs in younger patients, esp in setting of strong near-sightedness, trauma or underlying changes in the retina. Cataracts, again, more common in the elderly, but can even be seen at birth.

No but: Retinal detachment can occur at any age as can catsracts. There are over 50 types of catarects andthey can be present without initial signs or symtoms.
