A member asked:

Can every day use of spf 50 sun screen be bad for you? i mean due to continuous absorption of chemicals through skin or due to some other reason?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: The skin is a good barrier that when intact does not absorb chemicals deeper than a few layers. There are exceptions when DMSO or other agents are added to things like medication patches to allow them to penetrate deeper, but this does not happen with sunscreens. However, any person can develop a personal sensitivity reaction to any chemical within such a product. This is not common but happens
