I left handsoap (in particular: softsoap antibacterial handsoap) on my hands for around 10-20 min. after some time my skin began to itch quite a bit. am i at risk for poisoning due to the chemical absorption of the soap through the skin?

I do not think there is any dangerous chemical in hand soap that you would absorb. Perhaps you had a mild contact dermatitis from the soap. Next time, just rinse it off sooner. Good luck to you!
