Ive noticed during my fertile period, my pulse is 85-90 even when at rest. i take 50mg of toprol nightly for 15 years. im 39 and have normal periods. i just had my heart checked with a holter and echo, alls well. is this normal? hormones?

Heart rate ?'s: At age 39, just prior to your ovulation ("fertile period" ) the estrogen level falls rapidly producing both mood changes (which can elevate one's pulse to "85-90") and almost a pre-menstrual type of estrogen withdrawal. Your ovaries require more stimulation for ovulation to occur, which makes the fall in estrogen prior to ovulation more noticeable, coming from a higher peak down to near zero.
