Some basics: To a young kid a cough is similar to vomiting in the structures involved & they may vomit as a loss of control. Sucking on ice chips can sometimes interrupt the cycle of coughing. A little lemon in a spoonful of honey is a good old fashion cough remedy & flavored ice may help stimulate the appetite. None of the OTC cough meds work well at that age.
