Be careful: You might want to consider seeing your doc. Coughing so hard it makes you vomit (without a solid history of gerd) can be concerning for pertusis (whooping cough). With lots of folks not getting their kids vaccinated, there are little epidemics of this disease popping up here and there.

Secondqry infecton: My concern is that you may have developed a secondary bacterial infection after what was probably a viral illness and possibly influenza. I think it would make sense to be seen by a physician to determine if you need an antibiotic.
