Gluteal /leg pain : The framing of your question assumes a diagnosis. Ischial tuberosity bursitis does not cause pain into the calf. The diagnosis of low back pain/gluteal pain radiating into the calf is best accomplished after good history and physical examination by an experienced doctor specializing in such things.

Agree with Dr. R: If you are overweight, losing weight should be a priority. Regular exercise will help by conditioning your muscles. Any exercise will do. You may start with walking and gradually increase the duration and intensity of your exercise. Drink enough water so that your urine is mostly colorless.
