Signs infection : Infection signs include redness, thick drainage and swelling. You may need an antibiotic drop. Soothe the eye with tepid water rinses. Avoid rubbing the eye.

Some basics: Heat, smoke.dust particles & fumes in part or all together may have triggered a superficial burn/irritation to the delicate tissues of your eye. If you have no pain, redness or drainage now, your tears & natural body factors may have let it self heal. Artificial tears in drop form may help if it feels dry. If there is drainage or redness now see your doc.
