See primary: If not caused by sinuse by upper respiratory infection may want to see Primary to make sure not strept throat or ear infection.Until can be seen some acetaminophen or ibuprofen and salt water gargles may help.

Virus: The ear discomfort may be referred from an inflamed throat caused by a viral infection, but if the ear discomfort is severe a physician should examine it to check for a middle ear infection as antibiotics and ear drops are usually prescribed for this but not for a viral throat infection.
