Root canal pain: There will be no sensitivity to hot/cold/sweets since there are no live nerves in the tooth. But there are vital nerves in the surrounding tissues. The pain is most likely coming from the surrounding tissues. Fractured tooth? Residual infection? Sinus issue (if a max posterior tooth), Additional canal? See an endodontist for your second opinion.
