Cough: It is important to know when did the symptoms begin and what was your diagnosis. If overall you are feeling better then cough may subside soon but if it persists then some patients need inhalers if they have asthma or COPD. Reflux can cause cough at night and it may not be even related to breathing problem. Please provide more information to help you better.

That seems to be the: typical fix for coughing from an urgent care facility. Probability this time of year in the northeast, especially if you are a smoker or live with one is a viral bronchitis not requiring antibiotics. Steroids only if antitussives are ineffective. If no fever and night time coughing, try just dextromethophan (Delsym, or robitussin DM). If ineffective right away, be patient.
