Possible arthritis: Seeing pulsation in your radial artery is usually normal and not worrisome. Pain at the base of your thumb, aggravated by gripping/opening jars/twisting can come for arthritis of the trapeziometacarpal joint or scaphotrapeziotrapezoid joint. A splint can often help. If not x-rays and an exam can help sort it out.
