See a doctor : At age 34 it is more likely to be tension. More serious causes can occur in the 60+ age group. If it is recurrent and does not respond to simple meds, then a neurologist can help.

Cutaneous allodynia: Throbbing unilateral pain is usually migraine. When a migraine goes on for a while without effective treatment, you can develop "cutaneous allodynia," which is when your skin becomes sensitive to touch, combing, water, or other usually non-painful stimuli. I hope that helps!
