Possibly: The radial artery is one of two arteries that supply blood to the hand/wrist/and thumb, in addition to collateral arteries. That is why it is less likely to be due to the arterial occlusion. Achy, burning, shooting pain sounds more like a nerve compression such as carpal tunnel syndrome. Ischemic pain is usually different although could have some similar attributes to what you describe.
