Sudden tinnitus: Sudden onset of unilateral tinnitus may be temporary or permanent. If it persists consult an Otolaryngologist for evaluation and advice. If there is associated hearing loss or vertigo, further testing including a ct scan may be recommended.to look for an acoustic neuroma. Sometimes the problem is only wax buildup.
