Steroids: If you are having congestion then saline spray/wash may help and also local steroids such as flonase can be tried. If you have symptoms of sinusitis (fever, sinus pain) then you may need to see a doctor for possible antibiotic prescription.

Hello, My question is, why do I wake up with a lot of mucus in the back of my throat in the morning. I have no lung problems and never suffered from asthma or have allergies. But when I wake up I always have to capuchin phlegm. Thank you?
Constant hoarking thick mucus from nasopharynx area, asthma getting worse, coughing phlegm which I presume is from post nasal drip, blowing nose a lot. Taking albuterol twice daily and Claritin. Should I get a steroid inhaler too?
