Plantar Fasciitis: What you are describing is consistent with plantar fasciitis or irritation of the arch of your foot or possibly a heel spur. Simple treatments include a gentle streching program, icing, and/or over the counter arch supports and anti inflammatory medications. If these do not help you should be seen by an appropriately trained provider and an X ray of the foot should be obtained to start.
