Can be a factor but:: Many factors including prolonged sitting can cause hemorrhoids. Lack of fiber and bioflavonoids contribute. Try to take a break every 1-2 hours to walk for a few minutes. You can relieve irritation by sitz bath or nonprescription cream/ointment (caution: most anti-itch cream/ointments are for short term use only – longer use suggests need for a doctor appointment).
