Severe toothache: It's important that you see a dentist or medical care provider as a severe toothache can mean there is an infection or other tooth problem that needs attention. Meanwhile, try alternating warm and cold packs that may help with the pain. Feel better soon!

Toothache: Most common cause is infection (cavity > abscess), 2nd most common is fracture. You can't fix this yourself, see a Dentist ASAP. In the meantime cold compresses and OTC analgesics (follow pkg directions to the letter) may take the edge off. Prescription antibiotics will control spread of infection but on their own will not cure. Please call for dental appointment now.
