A member asked:

Do i need to get a referral from a dentist to see an orthodontist?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Referral for Ortho: Whether or not a referral from your General Dentist to a Specialist is required will depend on your insurance policy. Some Dental Insurance Companies write policies both ways, so it depends on your individual policy. Call the Patient Information phone number (usually on back of your coverage card) and ask them. Or you can call an Orthodontist's office and they can check your coverage for you.
