Water in ear: Hi, The water in your external ear canal will eventually dry out on its own. Avoid putting things into your ear, like cotton balls, Q-tips, etc. As far as the thumping sounds, you can also hear that as part of the water moving around in your ear. Nothing to worry about, it should go away on its own. Hope this helps
