I have a ruptured eardrum. (happened 8 days ago) its healing and the pain is gone but my hearing is still very muffled and ringing. should i be trying to avoid exposing my ear to sound?

Usual levels of sound would not interfere with healing. However, if your hearing is not improving, it would be prudent to see an ENT doctor.
