Yes,: but an arthrogram is not necessary to diagnosis bursitis on MRI. A non-arthrogram standard hip MRI will diagnose bursitis just as well. The arthrogram component(injecting contrast into the joint space) will help diagnose other potential causes of hip pain, but bursa are not connected to the joint space, so the arthrogram part doesn't aid in detecting bursitis.
