Start gently: A safe initial treatment is 1-2 drops of saline placed into the nose. After the saline, you can suction the baby’s nose gently with one of the devices in stores. If this continues, see your pediatrician or an ENT to make sure both sides of the nose are open. Very rarely, there can be narrowing or total blockage of the back of the nose, at the place it connects to the throat.

Nasal wash: Air pollutants including dust, fragrance, cleaning fumes, etc aggravate the problem. Nasal saline is the most specific and helpful aid to rinsing the irritants off the inside of the nose where it causes swelling and drainage. It must sometimes be used aggressively to provide adequate volume to thin secretions & improve airway function.Eliminating the offending irritants are the long term solution
