Yes: Congestion and snoring at night may indicate a more severe problem. If it is associated with an acute cold (upper respiratory infection) then it should resolve over 1-2 weeks. If it is prolonged and occurs without signs of illness, then it could indicate possible allergies, enlarged tonsils or enlarged adenoids. In most severe cases, it can be an indicator of sleep apnea.
