My son has been taking concerta for years. his new school does hair drug testing. his came back positive, is this possible?

Depends...: On what drug was positive on the drug test. Concerta would come up positive for amphetamines since it is an amphetamine. Any other drug (ie marijuana, cocaine etc) would not come back postive from Concerta.

Yes: Concerta is a controlled substance and will show up in tests for such drugs. However, the school should have information on file that cites his use of a prescription medication that would trigger the test. If not you should provide documentation for such use. If he does not have a valid prescription for the med it will be a problem.
