Depends: I usually avoid Ritalin on weekends or holidays if a kid is just involved in free play. If they are involved in some form of instructional setting like a skills camp or bible school I would continue, but with that type of limitation. The med is designed to help them focus for related instruction. I find it useful for kids to be kids free of drug when it works. If too symptomatic, he may need it.
