Few: Risk are low if the blood sugar is controlled but if the blood sugar is high then it slows healing in any type of surgery.

Infection & healing: First know that patients with diabetes can successfully undergo routine dentoalveolar surgery without complication with the right precautions. Secondly risk factors will depend on the severity of your diabetes and ability to keep it controlled. Your surgeon may ask you about blood glucose levels or recent blood work to check your hba1c level. For controlled cases, this is not usually needed though.
