A member asked:

If you had fibroids & a pituitary tumor at the same time and yet you had no period at all, could that be due to the adenoma? never had a heavy period.

Pituitary adenoma: A pituitary adenoma that releases prolactin (also called a "prolactinoma") can cause your periods to stop. This can happen regardless of whether you have fibroids or not. So yes - the adenoma could have been the cause of you not having a period.

Yes: A pituitary microadenoma will cause a cessation of menstrual flow masking the presence of the fibroids. However, once the fibroids are located in or near an arteriole they will bleed heavily independent of you menstrual cycle.
