A member asked:

Ophthalmology cataract: what may be the highest systolic blood pressure measurement that would clear a person for cataract removal due to aging?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

BP should be nearnor: BP should be well controlled and be in the normal range which is near about 140/90 mm. Any readings above this value are likely to cause your ophthalmologist some anxiety. But it is very easy to lower your BP before the operation is done. Ask your internist or PCP to help you to control it if the BP is higher than the above mentioned reading.
