Wait to worry: Protein in the urine during pregnancy does show up in many women. It is often accompanied by high BP. Since your BP is not high(give us the actual BP value as the definition of high BP is variable among doctors), then it is not dangerous. You can wait to get it rechecked in 3-4 weeks and also ask the doctor about your BP reading (It should be <120/80 mm). There is no treatment for leaking protein.

Probably not.: An isolated finding of some proteinuria (on a random sample of urine dipstick or less than 500 mg of protein in a 24 hour urine collection) is usually no cause for alarm unless you are diabetic, chronically hypertensive or have a UTI or other risk factors that place you at higher risks for developing preeclampsia / hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Ask for another check of your urine and BP.
