You’re okay: It’s from smoking unless the radiologist says otherwise. It’s benign in any case. Apical caps happen in young smokers. Glad you quit.

Vaping & smoking: Great input from Dr. Frielander. If you have switched from smoking to vaping - I recommend that you kick that habit as well. As of 11 SEP 2019 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 6 deaths & > 450 possible cases of severe lung injury in 33 states & 1 jurisdiction related to vaping. The mechanism of injury is poorly understood at this time. Don't recommend vaping.
