See below: Epididymal cysts or spermatoceles are: quite common; benign; vary in size from small to large; generally asymptomatic; and require no treatment. In “occasional” situations, they may cause enough bothersome discomfort to require surgical removal.....best done by a urologist especially during reproductive years to minimize any damage to the epididymis. Discomfort at base of penis likely unrelated.
