Prevent CHF: You probably have Diastolic dysfunction of the Left Ventricle. The etiology is most likely due to Hypertension ,Left ventricular hypertrophy secondary to hypertension and /or valvular heart disease such as Aortic Stenosis. Treatment is low sodium diet and use of mild diuretics are indicated.also use of Ace inhibitiors are very useful.Echo is useful For LVH and to r/o valvular heart disease

Mgt: I would suggest checking you BP, seeing your PCP and decreasing salt intake. Your leg edema may indicate a number of conditions which need to be addressed.
