Edema in legs. coughing up a little phlegm and shortness of breath.22m. 2 echos, stress test and nuclear stress (good ejection fraction) good ekgs. went to pulmonary and cant figure out why. multiple bnp test low. any ideas? normal lung function tst?

Since cardiac &pulmonary pathology have been ruled out I recommend checking for other causes of leg edema such as low serum albumin caused by losing protein in your urine from glomerular disease. Underactive thyroid, venous insufficiency,lymphedema are other possibilities. I recommend consulting a specialist in internal medicine.for thorough evaluation.

Consider a chest CTA and D Dimer to rule out a PE. A chest x ray is recommended and rinse nasal passages w saline to decrease post nasal drip. Avoid allergens and smoke, consider a pulmonary test w and without a bronchodilator.
