Takes time: they will take some time to go away, especially if this is your first outbreak. As long as you have any visible sores you are at risk of spreading this to partners, so be sure to abstain from sex or use a condom to minimize transmission. HSV 1 does tend to have fewer and less severe outbreaks than HSV2.
