A member asked:

Can a maxillar sinusitis c aused by sept deviation (mucus running in the back of the throuth ) affect the lungs and the heart? thank you very much

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Deviated septum: A deviated nasal septum, if it causes significant nasal congestion and chronic back up of mucus, can predispose to maxillary sinusitis in my opinion. The heart or lungs should not be directly affected. An Otolaryngologist can evaluate and advise you best about this.
