Penicillin: You have been prescribed a normal adult course of the antibiotic. Take entire course of the Med exactly as prescribed. Will reduce virulence and spread of the infection. Must have dental treatment (root canal or extraction) before a Meds run out or infection will come roaring back. Schedule follow-up with a General Dentist.

Not at all: Antibiotics work on susceptible bacteria during multiplication. You need to have a certain level in your bloodstream at all times since not all bacteria divide at the same time. Take as directed, finish the entire prescription, and have that tooth treated.
