Most people on a methadone program have a history of poor oral hygiene. Amoxicillin is safe to take, but get all of your teeth treated that are indicated, to prevent further infections.

There are no known drug-drug interactions between methadone and amoxicillin on Lexicomp. Drug specific side effects still apply, clarify with prescriber and/or pharmacist. Seeing your dentist will be next as long term use of methadone can cause dental cavities irrespective of keeping best dental hygiene.

Antibiotics will slow spread of infection, but will not cure tooth infection. Curing tooth infection requires root canal Rx/crown or extraction/implant crown. Pills alone WILL NOT CURE. See a Dentist to properly treat your infection.
