A member asked:

My dghter, 3 yrs old had middle ear infection yesterday some moisture came out of the ear a mix between blood and "etter" can i continue with ear drop?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

What drop ?: Bloody drainage during a middle ear infection suggests a rupture in the ear drum has let some of the infection drain. Antibiotic drops in the canal might be okay, but I would avoid antipyrine (pain) drops. You may want to call the treating doc to notify of the change. A follow up visit in a few weeks is needed to be sure the hole self repairs & infection healed.
