Healthy vagina: During menopause the vaginal tissue called mucosa becomes thinner and dryer. This is called vaginal atrophy. Estrogen “bulks” up the cells of the vagina getting them back to full strength. In some cases this will help. If the cystocele is large then surgical repair may be a better option although Estrogen cream will help with the healing process.
