A member asked:

What is the best and safest sleep position for a newborn ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Flat on back: The safest position/environment for a newborn sleep is flat on their back. Crib death declined 40% when we moved to this position. Any swaddling blanket used in the first days after birth should be loosened regularly until the kid gets use to the free movement & removed. The crib should have a firm mattress, no blankets or bumpers until the kid can stand (they suffocate in them).
