I have been sick with a 'tummy bug' for more than two weeks. i finish my second antibiotic today and i am still not healthy.

Tummy: Sounds like something and antibiotic can not fix. Perhaps you need evaluation for ulcer or some condition of that nature.

IBD vs infection : If getting better, then no need. for more antibiotic. If not, consider viral, amebiasis, giardiasis, antibiotics induce and inflammatory bowel disease. .GI specialist will help.

More info: Most “tummy bugs” are viral and therefore would not require antibiotics. And antibiotics can cause “ tummy” symptoms such as cramping and diarrhea all by themselves. What exactly are you feeling. ?

Stomach bug: Diarrhea for 2 weeks? Stool tested for salmonella, camphylobacter? Salmonella may respond to cipro but just has to run its course ,in fact antibiotics may prolong shedding. Camphylobacter responds to azithromycin.
