Tummy: Sounds like something and antibiotic can not fix. Perhaps you need evaluation for ulcer or some condition of that nature.

IBD vs infection : If getting better, then no need. for more antibiotic. If not, consider viral, amebiasis, giardiasis, antibiotics induce and inflammatory bowel disease. .GI specialist will help.

More info: Most “tummy bugs” are viral and therefore would not require antibiotics. And antibiotics can cause “ tummy” symptoms such as cramping and diarrhea all by themselves. What exactly are you feeling. ?

Stomach bug: Diarrhea for 2 weeks? Stool tested for salmonella, camphylobacter? Salmonella may respond to cipro but just has to run its course ,in fact antibiotics may prolong shedding. Camphylobacter responds to azithromycin. If upper intestine may be H pylori which needs 2 concurrent antibiotics. or eosinphilic esophagitis , allergy related Also consider gallbladder needs- ultrasound f/u/w GI
