Nerve: This is consistent with a nerve impingement, possibly at the wrist causing a carpal tunnel syndrome. When your wrist is relaxed during sleep, the impingement is most pronounced. A hand surgeon or neurologist would be best qualified to evaluate,advise and treat you. Treatment options include wearing a splint, corticosteroid injection at impingement site or surgery.
