Have him rechecked: Fever associated with acute otitis media is generally dissipated after 2 days of antibiotic treatment. Persistent fever suggests the possibility of antibiotic resistant bacteria.

Depends: If the med is Amoxil or Augmentin I would expect the fever down unless the germ is resistant. With Omnicef or Zithromax I have often seen it take an additional day or 2 for the fever to subside. It has to do with how fast the med starts working. Either way, a call to your doc for guidance would be where to start.
